The strong IPMS journey that began in Zonguldak in 2024 is expanding to the European scale in 2026.

The symposium, to be held on 4–6 May 2026 at La Blanche Island Hotel, Bodrum, will bring together the environmental, social, economic, and cultural aspects of post-mining activities.

​

Organized by MAYEM and supported academically by Gümüşhane University, which has been designated as a Specialized Mining University by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), this event will take place in collaboration with the EU COST project REMINDNET. Featuring scientific sessions, panels, poster presentations, workshops, and field trips, it will serve as an interdisciplinary meeting platform.
